PABLO SENDRA AND RICHARD SENNETT PUBLISH THEIR BOOK 'DESIGNING DISORDER: EXPERIMENTS AND DISRUPTIONS IN THE CITY'
In 1970, Richard Sennett published the groundbreaking The Uses of Disorder, arguing that the ideal of a planned and ordered city was flawed. Fifty years later, Sennett returns to these still fertile ideas and, alongside Lugadero’s founder partner Pablo Sendra, sets out an agenda for the design and ethics of the Open City.

FUTURE WIMBLEDON SPD INCLUDES THE PROPOSALS RESULTING FROM THE CO-DESIGN PROCESSES FACILITATED BY LUGADERO.
The Future Wimbledon Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been prepared to create a long-term vision for the future of development of Wimbledon town centre. This SPD supplements Merton's existing planning policies to provide guidance for development, public spaces and to attract investment in SW19.

PLAN REAVIVA TRANSFORMS CALLE BAÑOS INTO A PEDESTRIAN AND RETAIL ROUTE FOR THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Interventions on Calle Baños started through a series of participatory process in late 2017 as part of the Plan Reaviva. The interventions took a different approach to urban regeneration and aimed to recover open spaces for public use and enhance conviviality. The project has the following priorities: universal accessibility, restricting vehicular access and reconfigure the space for the use of the street as a commercial pedestrian route.

LUGADERO’S PROPOSAL FOR VILLUNUEVA DE LA SERENA’S MARKET (BADAJOZ) “VIVA LA PLAZA” RECEIVES AN HONOURABLE MENTION
Lugadero’s proposal for transforming the iconic food market of Villanueva de la Serena receives a honourable mention. Our project proposes a new type of hybrid building that creates a public meeting point in the city. This new place aims to attract a wide diversity of services related to gastronomy and culture, which will catalyse a more socially active community.

PREMIERE OF “UNA VEZ MÁS” (ONE MORE TIME), THE LATEST FILM OF GUILLERMO ROJAS, SHOT IN BAÑADERA BAR.
Bañadera, one of Lugadero’s projects, has been the location of some of the scenes of the film “Una vez más”.
Abril and Daniel have not seen each other since she left to London to look for a job and they broke their relationship. Five years later, and without having kept in touch, Abril comes back for her grandmother’s funeral and they meet again. Together they travel around the city, remembering what they had, what they were, what they forgot, and what they could have been.

WE HAVE PARTICIPATED IN ‘LA CIUDAD ES NUESTR’ (THE CITY IS OURS), A HACKCAMP BY ZEMOS98 AT MEDIACTIVISM
Between the 24th and the 26th of October, Seville is hosting “La ciudad es nuestra”, a meeting with thirty local, national and international participants working on topics related to memory, identity, folklore and tourism from the arts and media. “La ciudad es nuestra” is part of the MediActivism project, which objective is to produce, in different local contexts, mediatic content related to the processes of dispossession that cities are going through all over Europe.

PLAY WIMBLEDON AND PLAN REAVIVA, TWO FEATURED PROJECTS IN MATADERO MADRID
Lugadero is participatin in the 5th Congress of Culture and Citizenship, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of Spain, which takes place in Matadero Madrid on the 23rd – 24th of October 2019. The congress addresses the topic of the public space and its – collective and individual – appropriation, as well as its co-production (social, anthropological, political, democratic, material, symbolic, ecologic) through cultural practices. We participated presenting Play Wimbledon and, with Reyes Gallegos, Plan Reaviva.
